Birds of A Feather
Resort Community

Live, Play & Belong in a unique & environmentally-conscious community! We are currently in development with seven occupied homes and one more under construction. We are featuring sustainable "EcoNest" architecture, as well as traditional southwestern style homes.

Birds of a Feather... a special, magical place... your dream come true! Our community in Pecos, New Mexico is open to anyone who wishes to live harmoniously in a non-traditional community designed for active adults.
Birds of a Feather's gated community is located on 140 acres of forested land with outstanding natural beauty and magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in sunny northern New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment".

Live close to Santa Fe, a city known for its multi-cultural tradition, history of tolerance, stimulating cultural environment, world-class restaurants, shopping, and an art scene with few rivals... add an ideal climate!

Bonnie McGowan lives in Santa Fe (since moving from Minneapolis in July, 2001) and has been working on her dream of creating a non-traditional residential community for active adults for the past ten years. She actively researched the concept and searched for the best location and property for the community.
Birds of a Feather purchased property in New Mexico in June, 1999 and Bonnie has been working full-time since then on selecting the team members to create the community and obtaining County & State approval for the project. In the future, she will be spending her time managing the development process and in sales of lots and homes.

Bonnie is a member of the Urban Land Institute and is currently a candidate in their Real Estate Development Certificate Program. She has also completed coursework through the Commercial Real Estate Institute.
